Hat Trick Success in Colour for Contemporary

Award winning hair salon chain Contemporary has won through to the regional final of the UK's hottest hairdressing competition in a phenomenal three categories. An unprecedented six Contemporary teams made it through to the regional final across the three categories of the competition - The L'Oreal Colour Trophy; L'Oreal Men's Image and The Young Colourist Award - from Guisborough, Middlesbrough, Yarm, The Hair Academy, Stokesley and Marske.

The teams from Contemporary beat off competition from 1200 UK entrants. Contemporary have now triumphed in gaining a place amongst 65 salon teams competing at the L'Oréal Colour Trophy regional final in Leeds on 12th April.

Matthew Barritt from Guisborough has also won a place in the Young Colourist section of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy. Matthew is one of just five hairdressers under 25 years of age that has made it through from the North East region through a stunning photographic model entry.

Contemporary will take to the live competition floor and create their model look in just 30 minutes, their style will reflect Autumn / Winter 11/12 definitive trends and will be judged by the hairdressing industries most prolific hairdressers. At this stage Contemporary will only be a door away from winning a place in the industries longest running and most fashion inspired event - The L'Oreal Colour Trophy Grand Final to be held within the exquisite Grosvenor House Ballroom, Park Lane, London on 4th July 2011.

Contemporary will now begin to source their inspirations and build their chosen look as well as find a model that captures the salon teams creative vision. To impress the acclaimed judging panel and propel them to the prestigious grand final, the model look shaped will be a flawless amalgamation of both hair and fashion styling. Globally renowned hairdresser Trevor Sorbie MBE was amongst the judges that selected the 2011 Regional finalists.
